Waiting On Wednesday (30)

Idea taken from Breaking The Spine

The Dead Tossed Waves by Carrie Ryan.

Gabry lives a quiet life. As safe a life as is possible in a town trapped between a forest and the ocean, in a world teeming with the dead, who constantly hunger for those still living. She’s content on her side of the Barrier, happy to let her friends dream of the Dark City up the coast while she watches from the top of her lighthouse. But there are threats the Barrier cannot hold back. Threats like the secrets Gabry’s mother thought she left behind when she escaped from the Sisterhood and the Forest of Hands and Teeth. Like the cult of religious zealots who worship the dead. Like the stranger from the forest who seems to know Gabry. And suddenly, everything is changing. One reckless moment, and half of Gabry’s generation is dead, the other half imprisoned. Now Gabry only knows one thing: she must face the forest of her mother’s past in order to save herself and the one she loves.

Second book in the great paranormal series I've been looking forward to reading and reviewing, this one seems even more mysterious than the first. I also love the fact that there's a new main character to follow, like you're reading a series when you're not (does that even make sense?). Oh and the book just has a new cover. The original one looks beautifully dreamy but I think this portray the book better. What about you?

Prepared to be swept away by these waves on March 9th, 2010.

I was confused for a moment, it's the first time I see this cover! It's beautiful, and suits the title really well. But I can't wait to read this book, too. The first one was excellent!

I'm so mad they changed the cover, the other one was so much better.
Anyway, this book sounds AWESOME! I have yet to read the Forest of Hands and Teeth, but I can't wait!

Great pick! I can't wait for this one either.

I saw this a couple of weeks ago, and to be honest I was a little annoyed. I like it but I also like the other one better because it would match the forest of hands and teeth cover.

This cover matches the new Forest of Hands and Teeth coming out in paperback. Have you seen that one yet?
